Qld: Police questioning suspects over Aurukun murder

Detectives from Cairns are continuing to question people about the stabbing death of
man at the Aurukun (pron: ARRA-KOON) Aboriginal Community on Cape York Peninsula two days
ago.

Police say a 53-year-old man was stabbed in the throat shortly before midnight on Friday night.

He managed to stagger about 150 metres to the Aurukun hospital, but died a short time later.

Detectives from Cairns flew to Aurukun yesterday to handle the inquiry and are said
to have several suspects under investigation.
